Concerned Citizens of Shell Bluff Burke CountyGeorgia

Concerned Citizens of Shell Bluff was formed in 2010 to fight the expansion of a nuclear power plant.  Shell Bluff, a rural, majority-black, community in eastern Georgia, is home to the Alvin W. Vogtle Electric Generating Plant (commonly known as Plant Vogtle).  Plant Vogtle, Georgia’s largest nuclear plant, is among the largest nuclear power plants in the country.  Concerned Citizens of Shell Bluff has become a driving force for environmental justice in eastern Georgia.
